This last week was an interesting one as I continued my swim and walking exercise routines and worked on lots of little details of life living. If you let the little things go, they pile up and overwhelm you. So time spent on minutia is time well spent.
The weekend was lots of fun as we attended a dinner party in Los Angeles County hosted by a well known author. So of course, we had to get one of her books out of the library. The Possibility of You by Pamela Redmond was a wonderful, easy read with lots of skilled weaving of narratives to a very satisfying conclusion. The dinner party was hosted at her home and it was a delight to meet her, let her know how much we enjoyed reading one of her eighteen books and to enjoy meeting several of, the many people, who came to support a fascinating woman named Beth Howard, who has produced at new documentary on pie called PIEOWA. You guessed it, Beth is originally from Iowa and pie has played a prominent role in her explorations, healing processes in life and her connections with many, many communities. Beth has also produced a few books on pie and peace, and a cookbook, which we have and have enjoyed creating from. I met Beth through my husband who first connected with Beth on social media because – who doesn’t love pie – and my husband likes “finding the good”.
Keep an eye out for this documentary and let’s hope it turns into a docu series! I think anyone who tries to unite us all during these divided times is doing good work. Thanks Beth! Now lets share some pie. Yum.
