Despite the centuries of advice from various religions, this question seems to be on the minds of many of our global leaders. Some are wholly unconcerned or don’t believe there is a heaven. Those can be the ones that often create a type of hell on earth. Not always, but often.
I find the search for access to heaven VERY intriguing! So I thought I would list my thoughts on the subject, having been a congregant of several different religions over my decades on earth, so far… there are more to learn about. For now, I’ve compiled some similarities among religions to be considered:
#1. And I put this in bold letters – DO NOT EXPRESS JOY WHEN ANYONE IS MURDERED. This is largely frowned upon from what I have gathered from relatives who have “passed on” (died) and also makes you look like a “not great person”. Expressing joy, when someone you think is “wrong” or “a bad person” dies by the hand of another, is a base behavior and the higher power expects you to – yes, maybe feel that caveman like urge as a quick ancient twinge. However, the hope is you have grown more over your time on the planet. So this is a simple one to work on. When others express joy or gloat you can simply reply, “I am not happy when a person is murdered, no matter who they are.”
NOT so simple, is the second one…
#2. DO NOT GLOAT WHEN BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO SOMEONE YOU DISAGREE WITH. Yes, it’s similar to the first one, however, it’s a more slippery slope and only makes you slide into the hole also. And don’t expect any sympathy when you have bad things happen to you, if you do this. No, you are not more special than the other person. Living long enough to see their downfall might be God’s reward for you, so keep your simple mouth shut and just practice working on your own faults. You may stay quite busy with that. And you will recognize the reward, if it comes.
#3. Take care with how you interact with all of the creatures that were created before you. That includes animals, insects, invertibrates, mammals, and the list goes on… including men, if you are a woman. After all, woman was the last creation before God rested because, “it was not good for man to be alone” in the garden of Eden with all of those magnificent flowers, trees and creatures. It don’t know why… it just was not good. At least that’s what the Christian Bible says. I will have to check the other books to see if a similar phrase is used.
4. Share some of what you have. We are not talking full out poverty here, we are talking about sharing anything excess, that you don’t need. Maybe a meal, maybe clothes that just hang in your closet, maybe a kindness, maybe concern, maybe a job prospect that you think they would be good at. The list is endless and it’s not that hard. Maybe a thoughtful gift when someone has hosted repeatedly. The most valuable thing you can share is your time. That’s the one I appreciate the most. However, do not share your time with those who belittle you. They have not earned that precious gift yet.
5. Be happy for people when good things happen to them, even if you don’t think it’s important or that big of a deal. Your opinion is not necessary in these situations.
So there you are… a beginning path to heaven. I hope everyone takes this in the serious, yet light hearted manor it is intended. So if being creative seems too hard right now, just work on these five steps and before too long, you will start to feel more in control of yourself and then you can start the creativity trail. I’ll be taking a short break from posting to live in the analog world for a while, but I will check back in before the month is out. Wishing you peace at your core, kindness from strangers and hope for a higher way.
