Good morning (here) my fellow readers! Last night was a noisy one, and so I’m up early and wanted to share an inspirational post with you – as so many things in our current situations are not inspirational or hopeful – at all. While driving back home yesterday, I heard an old Jimmy Buffett song (the late, great, Jimmy Buffett) I had not heard before. Appropriately it is on his “Hot Water” album from the 1980’s called Bring Back the Magic. How appropriate!!
Nothing can tear you apart
If you keep living straight from the heart
Though you know that you’re gonna hurt some
The magic will come
Here we go in my country with more debt, rising inflation, tariff costs from alienating our once trusted allies and everyone angry and fighting within our country. Just getting to the grocery store and back without running into a really angry man (the women are really mad too… we just know how to channel it differently)… is a daily victory. I find this sad. So I look to the core of life and try to bring back joy, straight from the heart.
Another song of Jimmy’s that I have always liked is Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes. A few lyrics for those who don’t know it:
“It’s those changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes
Nothing remains quite the same
With all of our running and all of our cunning
If we couldn’t laugh, we would all go insane”
So if you find yourself angry, depressed, frustrated or just riding high while others talk about the consequences of your actions… (yes, we are looking at you)… maybe just try slowing down and connecting to your core. Somewhere, deep down in there, buried by hustle and bustle is your creative heart. It’s the only thing that can make the world better for everyone. Get inspired, tell your story, dance YOUR dance and try not to be quite so judgmental.
Oh and before I go, I will update my Global Art News page with a story about an illuminated mustang sculpture. Interesting history.
Until we meet again here, I wish you the basic necessities of life, freedom of choice and a sprinkling of heart magic.
