Hello to my baseline audience, as I grow this website/blog! I’m working on making a specific day of the week to do updates so that subscribers will not be surprised randomly. Finding that rhythm will be interesting, and hopefully the updates will be something you can look forward to. I set up my e-mail account this morning, so if you have questions about my art or designs, you can e-mail me at info@artbyksd. No marketing e-mails please, since it’s a hobby site, not a business… at this time.
First, let me tell you about the image attached to this post. It’s a fabric painting on denim of the Pigeon Point Lighthouse in California. I have been meaning to complete the back of the denim jacket shown on the “Crafty Girl” page for a while and life kept interrupting me. I finally had time to focus and I am really pleased with the end result! I hope to wear it while visiting various lighthouses this summer. I think light house enthusiasts will get a kick out of it.
Now to the title of this post. All this week, as I have kept up with the chaos of this world of domination and destruction, I have been pondering how I keep my positive, magic practice consistent. And then I realized, after some not positive comments I made publicly this week, the light from a light house is not continuous, but pulsing, due to the design of the lens. Rotating around with consistency however the light is not seen from one vantage point steadily. So having those seconds without the light to guide us actually helps identify who we are, just as the seconds of darkness at each light station identify which light house it is. So it’s okay to “go dark” with consistency, as long as you rotate around to the light again and help keep others safe. The darkness does not mean the light is not there. The light burns continuously. It’s simply from what vantage point you are viewing it, that makes the difference.
I am wishing you all an upcoming week of safety, care and creativity!
