We finally have some rain after many, many prayers for relief from the many, many fires that have devastated our landscapes. The flowering pear trees are blooming and there are no winds, just steady, gentle rain. That is good in our area and a problem in the burn scar areas.
Our firefighters from around the region, Mexico and Canada (yay for cooperation!), are fully and completely exhausted. So here come the magic makers! Raise a glass to the Reality Center in Santa Monica! They are offering free mental health therapy (the advanced kind, not just talk therapy) to all first responders who have come together to help everyone who has been a victim of these fires. They help us, we help them… amazing how that works!! You can read more about what they are doing in this KTLA article. I’m not sure how long the link will be valid, but we can hope they leave it up for a while. Let’s hear it for the helpers!
Which reminds me that despite the health care system of the United States being impacted HARD by the initial COVID years and the subsequent mismanagement by our “leaders”, there are some amazing advances in non-traditional (a.k.a. not the pharmaceutical industry) that are really helping people. From people who fall from 2 stories getting hyperbaric, PEMF and physical therapy to the various therapies that the Reality Center in Santa Monica is providing, there are alternative healing methods that are proving to work at a cellular level. And that is very exciting!
Another amazingly helpful thing that came from these fires is an app that was developed to help the first responders, but ended up helping thousands and thousands of residents stay safe and know which way the flames were blowing, and when and how to evacuate their homes or offices to head toward safety. Many know, it’s the First Watch app. Again, creating magic at first, for a small group of helpers that expanded quickly to being a useful tool for all. Great job!
So focus your attention on these people and away from the ones who tell you what and how to think and where to put your money (you’ll never see it again). We are the ones in control of where humanity goes. Each and every, single one of us. Invest in and look for the good.
