Here is a sneak peek at the latest mural mosaic painting I did for a group national project that will be revealed in 2026. As we were clearing my mother’s old place last week I shipped some valuable prints to a family member and left a few of mine (not as valuable) ones behind. Some were photo prints and not worth as much as the frame, however another was an intaglio print that is a limited series. So we will see if the home estate sale company can get anything for that. As we were choosing what to leave for sale and what to take, my brother said, “You were supposed to be a famous artist by now.” He was kidding, of course, however what he probably does not realize is the vast expanse that my creative talents have covered and will most likely be revealed after I am long gone. Which is fine with me. I’ve never sought fame, but would not mind it if my art and design works became famous.
From graphic design projects and human anatomy drawings in college, paste up on a sock catalog after college to pay the bills, dark room days and wax machine mockups, to global graphic designs with one of the first cable stations, to online graphics for real estate, to fundraiser art projects for secondary education… doing logo designs for friends who ran small businesses, portraits of children and pets for friends, and the many, many fine art paintings and crafts I have created, there is no shortage of creations to be collected by a curious fan or follower. It would keep them investigatively busy for some time.
Now that I am in my non-corporate or freelance stage… I am free to do whatever strikes me at the moment. And that my readers, is a DELICIOUS freedom. Many of my works are what some would describe as “pretty” while others are not so pretty, with intentionality.
My goals now are to keep my body moving, keep my creations coming and to encourage others to create in whatever way speaks to you (as long as it does not harm another or fuel the “darkness”). You can expose the darkness, but don’t feed it. There are enough people in power doing that anyway.
As September winds down and we find ourselves facing the fall, let’s keep working on positive creations and connecting in helpful ways. I already have some fun things in mind for my October posts and encourage you to enjoy the sites and smells of this season change, with friends.
Until next time my readers… crisp crunchy apples, warm spicy drinks and positive creations in your hands. Peace.
