Well happy March my viewers! This weekend we have been dealing with spotty wifi and LinkedIn is full of government workers posting about spotty systems, due to bad decisions. Dismantling things at a rapid pace with no clear plan for replacement and then asking people to “bear with you” when you have plenty of protection and they simply don’t is well… poor leadership at best. (Yes, I have always been a master at understatement.)
While I have some control over wifi repair, I simply have none over government system repair and rebuilding. All I have at this point is my voice. Perhaps, just perhaps, those former employees can work through non-governmental organizations to right the ship and bail out the water we are rapidly taking on. One can hope. Otherwise, we as a country may appear on the “Abandoned” TV series. (Tongue firmly in cheek.)
Meanwhile, locally, we have had more residents in our area displaced by a garage fire (while it was raining!). So, the rain helped the fire fighters and the damage was limited to 2 buildings. Those are now under remediation and re-construction. And although we had considered some remodeling projects ourselves, just to update things, now is not the time as so many in large swaths of our county are going to have to rebuild entirely. That goes on the back burner and we will just be grateful for our home, as is.
We were able to enjoy some live music to end the week and were really grateful to our artistic community for the joy, community and creation they have worked hard to sustain. Live music is just the best and what I missed the most during the 2020-2023 years. Let’s hear it for the CREATORS!
A good friend of mine also ended the week with live music. It really does uplift and re-wire your brain in a positive way. Thank you musicians of all stripes. Speaking of inspirations and musicians, here is a heartbreaking story about a beautiful soul lost to our gun culture and the inspiring way his mom and family remember him. Now is the time for laying our own paths because the ones we walked on before are deteriorating from lack of care. It is important to get really good at finding the good in others and around us, surrounding yourself with people who care about others and exercising your creative muscles (even if you don’t think you are creative). I know I personally am working on my sketching skills as I wait for my latest oil painting to dry. Alright my lovely readers, may you have a connected, musical and calm week until we meet again.
